Built around seeing rather than seeking

Since 2012, I have travelled with the same Nikon Coolpix S8200, a camera that allows me to move through places unobtrusively, observing rather than directing.

Whether travelling independently or as part of a tour, I wander and absorb my surroundings. Texture, imperfections, light and shadow are often what draw me in.

My photographs are built around seeing rather than seeking. They come from a feeling: turning a corner, looking down an alleyway, or glancing through a window and suddenly finding the image already there. A moment framed, waiting to be captured.

These photographs are the result of wandering, observing and responding to quiet moments that often lie beyond the obvious view.

Processing is kept deliberately minimal, allowing the photographs to remain as close as possible to the moment they were observed.

The Camera

Every photograph in this collection was captured using the same Nikon Coolpix S8200.

Small enough to go unnoticed and reliable enough to come everywhere with me, it has accompanied me through cities, coastlines, markets, side streets and quiet corners for more than a decade.

I have never felt the need to replace it. Familiar, dependable and always within reach, it has become an integral part of how I observe and photograph the world.
